Continuing Education

The science of health and well-being is ever evolving. Clinicians, and all those who support them, are expected to provide care that is known to be safe, effective and delivered with compassion. Most health professionals must maintain certification, and licensure through continuing education. Accredited Continuing Education (CE) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities provide the opportunity for health professionals to learn in an atmosphere free of commercial bias.

Services We Provide

Continuing Education

The CPCHP partners with agencies to provide an array of accredited educational programs for physicians, nurses and other health professionals with a focus on primary care. We prioritize meeting the continuing education needs of those practicing in rural and underserved areas.

The Colorado Plateau Center for Health Professions is one of five Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) in the state of Arizona, and each provides unique services for continuing education (CE) of health professionals. CPCHP prioritizes creating opportunities within our service area of northern Arizona (Apache, Coconino, Navajo and Yavapai counties).

Most health professions are required to be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) if they have direct patient contact. Each organization may have its own policies in place to stay compliant with state and federal requirements. We provide BLS resources to assist health professionals in the northern Arizona region, and limited it to those resources we know align with North Country HealthCare's BLS policy.

Find Answers

The value goes beyond helping health professionals obtain the CE/CME to renew their certificates and licenses. Health professionals must be life-long learners. Increasing knowledge includes learning best practices, and staying up-to-date on the latest research. Accredited activities provide a protected environment for learning, free of commercial bias.

Please contact us in the earliest phases of development (ideally no less than 90 days before the activity date, materials prepared 75 days in advance). Why? Accreditors each have unique requirements and timelines. To ensure content is relevant to the specialty being accredited and meets requirements, we must be directly involved in the planning or development. We have several community partnerships, and work diligently to honor commitments.

We sponsor many of the work we do for community partners (who seek to provide CE to health professionals free of charge to participants). Sponsorship or fees are determined on a case-by-case basis for every activity in the early phase of partnership development.
